Mike Bibbey – Coach

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer

Burlington resident, Mike Bibbey is both an aspiring architect and a CrossFit enthusiast. Mike grew up playing hockey and has always been athletic. He discovered CrossFit the summer of his Junior year at Burlington High School and he hasn’t stopped since. When he started CrossFit, hockey was his only focus so he only thought of it as “something new and fun to do for the summer.” The following year was when things changed and Mike made the tough decision to pursue academics, specifically architecture, over a full-time career in hockey.

CrossFit became Mike’s sport once hockey was out of the picture. He joined a box near his college campus at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute in New York state and was a “regular” right away. His coaches encouraged him to get his Level 1 certification which he did during Spring break. “CrossFit has become the competitive aspect of my life that I was missing without full-time hockey. I’m on the hockey team too and this training has helped me more on the ice than I ever expected.” says Mike.

When we asked Mike what the most surprising thing about being a Coach and CrossFit is in general, he has a great answer. “CrossFit has opened so many doors for me and I have the privilege of meeting so many amazing people. Every class is different. The people, the workout and the community is so welcoming. I strive to consistently get better every day, and, in turn help and motivate others to do the same.”
