Our newest Member Spotlight is on Melissa! Melissa, a Burlington resident and Harvard graduate, has been a member since September 2016. She recently competed in the CrossFit Open and did awesome!

We asked her some questions. Here’s what she has to say!

Q: Describe your biggest milestone, achievement, or “A-Ha” moment.
A: When Lori told me my arms were getting big! And when my squats got looowwww.

Q: What is your favorite CrossFit workout? Favorite exercise/skill?
A: Deadlifts

Q: If there were a WOD named after you, what would it have in it?
A: Rowing and Kettle Bell swings

Q: What is your favorite cheat meal?
A: Anything Italian!

Q: How has CrossFit enriched your life outside the gym?
A: I feel stronger and healthier (oh yea, and skinnier)!

Q: What is the first word that comes to mind when you hear these words?
A: WOD: The ones that look the easiest are the hardest!
FRAN: Not a nice person
BURPEE: Noooooooooooooooooooo
STRENGTH: Pull-ups
LOVE: How far I have come

Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Q: Do you have any advice for people just getting started or new to CrossFit?
A: It’s not as scary as it looks! Anyone can do it and consistency is key.

A: Be tried by more people. I think many people are afraid to try it, but once they do, they will be hooked!
